A Study on Relationship between the Sexual Attitude and Experience of High school students in Rural Area

Abstract
The study was carried out to provide an effective sex education in high school by referring to relationship between the sexual attitude and experience, sexual attitude and experience of premarital coitus, general characteristics and experience of sexual coitus.
The subject of this study were 497 students (male ; 48.5%, female ; 51.5%, first grade ; 37.4%, 2nd grade ; 27.2%, 3rd grade; 35.4%) in Chung Nam area (N.S.K. town) and were investigated in May, 1993.
The data were analyzed statistically (SPSS program) by means of number, percentage,
x2-test.
The. results of the study were as follow
1. Male students were higher than female students in distribution of concerned about sex, and showed statistically significant difference (P<.0001).
2. 44.1% students answered "sexual activity is natural Male students were higher than female students, and showed statistically significant difference(male ;55.2%, female 33.6%, P<.0001).
3.. There are statistically a significant difference in the method of manage in sexual need between male and female students (P<.0001.).
4. On premarital sexual intercourse, 27.4% students expressed approval and male students
were higher than female students (male ; 40.2, female;15.2%, P<.0001).
5. There are statistically a significant difference in the method to solve sexual problem
between male and female students (P<.0001).
6. In distribution of sexual experience, 33.6% of total respondents have experienced masturbation (male ; 63.5%, female ; 5.5%, P<.0001), 16.9% of total respondents have experienced Kissing (male ; 18.7%, female ; 15.2, N.S), 6.6% of total respondents have
experienced sexual intercourse (male ; 10.0%, female ; 3.5%, P <.01), 0.4% of total respondents have experience pregnancy (male ; 0.8%, female - N.S). 0.2% of total respondents have experienced abortion (male`; 0.4%, female N.S), 1.2% of total respondents have experienced venereal disease (male 1.7%, female ; 0.8%, N.S).
7. Relationship between attitude toward premarital sexual intercourse and sexual experience : There were statistically significant difference between the approval group toward premarital sexual intercourse and masturbation - (P<.0001), Kissing (P<.0001), sexual intercourse (P<.0001), pregnancy (P<.0.5), venereal disease (P<.0.5).
8. Relationship between general characteristics and premarital sexual intercourse : There were statistically significant difference between the grade and premarital sexual intercourse (P<.0001).
